BURGLARY DETECTIVES SEEK PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE


DSP News Release: Burglary Detectives Seek Public’s Assistance

 

Locations:  Shell Gas Station, 2501 Newport Gap Pike, Wilmington

 

Date of Occurrence: Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 4:30 a.m.

 

Suspects:  Unknown subject wearing an orange or red hooded sweatshirt, a gray or light colored hat, light pants, and dark colored shoes.

 

Resume:  

Wilmington- Delaware State Police burglary detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the below pictured suspect who attempted to burglarize the Shell fuel station located in the 2500 block of Newport Gap Pike in Wilmington.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2011 as the suspect used a hammer and their foot to damage the glass doors of the business in an attempt to gain entry. After failing to do so, the suspect fled from the gas station in a northbound direction. 

 

The pictured subject is also suspected of either attempting to burglarize or successfully burglarizing several other businesses in northern New Castle County between late 2010 and early this year. In each incident, the suspect either smashed out the glass doors of the business or made an attempt to break out the glass. If entrance was made, the suspect then removed cash, cigarettes, or food items and then fled the area.
