DSP News Release: Millsboro Man Arrested after Domestic Related Assault

Location:  Crescent Shore Drive north of Fleatown Road, Lincoln, DE

Date and Time of Occurrence: Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:20 a.m.

Victim: 

-21 year old Lincoln, DE female

Defendant:  Darrell K. White, Jr., 22, Millsboro, DE

Charges:

-Assault 1^st Degree

-Reckless Endangering 1^st Degree

Resume:  

Lincoln- The Delaware State Police arrested a Millsboro man after a domestic altercation which ended with a female victim being struck by her own vehicle yesterday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, as a 21 year old Lincoln, DE female was parked in her vehicle on Crescent Shore Drive in Lincoln. The female was then confronted by her ex-boyfriend, Darrell K. White, Jr, 22, of Millsboro. White and the female victim became involved in a verbal altercation which then turned physical after White punched the victim in the face. White then grabbed the victim by the hair and pulled her from her vehicle which had been placed in reverse. As the victim was removed from the vehicle, she was struck by the car causing her serious injury to her hip. Darrell White then fled the area but later turned himself in to state police at Troop 7. The female victim was transported from the scene by EMS to the Milford Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

Darrell White was subsequently arrested for one count each of Assault 1^st Degree and Reckless Endangering 1^st Degree. He was arraigned at JP Court 3 and released after posting $7000.00 secured bail.
