JAILED WILMINGTON MAN LINKED TO TWO BANK ROBBERIES


DSP News Release: Jailed Wilmington Man Linked to Two Bank Robberies

 

Location and Dates of Occurrences:

 

-Artisans Bank, 1706 Marsh Road, Wilmington (Wednesday, November 24, 2010 and Thursday, January 17, 2011)

 

Defendant: Lamotte S. Chandler, 50, Springer Street, Wilmington, DE  

 

Charges:

 

-Robbery 1st Degree (2 counts)

-Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony

-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

 

Resume:  

Wilmington- Delaware State Police detectives have arrested a 50 year old Wilmington man and charged him with robbing the same North Wilmington Bank twice.

 

On Friday, March 25, 2011 detectives arrested Lamotte S. Chandler and charged him in connection with the robbery of the Artisans Bank located in the 1700 block of Marsh Road, Wilmington on November 24, 2010 and again on January 17, 2011. Chandler had been arrested by the Wilmington Police Department on March 19, 2011 after he robbed the WSFS Bank located on Delaware Avenue in Wilmington. Chandler had been incarcerated at the Howard Young Prison since that date. State Police detectives were then able to develop him as a suspect in the two Artisans Bank robberies and arrested him on Friday. Chandler was arraigned at the Court of Common Pleas in Wilmington and ordered held on his previous charges as well as an additional $95,000.00 bail in connection with the two Artisans bank robberies.
