DSP News Release: Georgetown Man Arrested after Robbing Pair

Charges: Robbery 1^st Degree, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Aggravated Menacing, Conspiracy 2^nd Degree

Georgetown- The Delaware State Police on Friday, March 25, 2011 arrested a 23 year old Georgetown man and are searching for a second after they robbed a Georgetown man who had agreed to purchase illegal drugs from them.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. last night as a 23 year old Georgetown man and a 48 year old Millsboro woman had driven to the intersection of Wilson Road and Sand Hill Road in Georgetown in order to meet Thomas Reid, III and Quentin Jones in order to purchase illegal narcotics from them. As the victims were sitting in their vehicle, Jones and Reid approached them after pulling up in a car, and brandished handguns. They them demanded and received cash from the male victim. Jones and Reid then returned to their vehicle and fled the area with the victims following them until they reached the development of County Seat where they lost sight of them. The victims contacted police who responded to the area and obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle. As troopers were interviewing the victims, an officer from the Georgetown Police Department spotted the suspect vehicle on Donovans Road and conducted a car stop. The operator, Thomas Reid, was taken into custody without incident. Quentin Jones was not in the vehicle. A pellet gun was located in the car.

State Police detectives arrested Thomas Reid and charged him with the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at JP Court 3 and then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution for lack of $55,000.00 cash bail.

Detectives currently have warrants on file for Quentin Jones for the above list of crimes. Jones is described as a black male, 28 years of age, 5’11” tall, and 155 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes and should be considered dangerous.
