STATE POLICE PROBE ROBBERY OF LAUNDROMAT CUSTOMERS


DSP News Release: State Police Probe Robbery of Laundromat Customers

 

Location: Mr. Kleen Laundromat, 21 Stamm Boulevard, New Castle, DE

 

Date of Occurrence: Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 2:20 a.m.

 

Victims: 

 

-27 year old Wilmington, DE female

-37 Broomall, PA male

-20 year old Wilmington, DE male

 

Suspect:  Black male, 5’11”-6’00” tall and 300 lbs. He was last seen wearing a dark blue or black zip up hooded sweatshirt and dark denim pants. He was also armed with a handgun.

 

Resume:  

New Castle- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of three patrons of a New Castle area laundromat that occurred early Tuesday morning.

 

The incident occurred as three customers were inside of the Mr. Kleen Laundromat located in the unit block of Stamm Boulevard, New Castle, DE at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The three victims were confronted by a male suspect who displayed a small handgun and demanded money from each of them. After receiving cash and other personal items from the victims, the suspect escorted the 37 year old victim to his car which was in the parking lot of the business. The suspect then removed cash from the vehicle and then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victims were not injured.
