Resume Update Wednesday March 16, 2011:

Dover- (Original Released Information) Delaware State Police Sunday evening around 8:37 p.m. received a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot.  Delaware State Police responded to the area between the 500 and 700 blocks of Voshells Mill Star Hill Road Dover. 

 

State Police discovered that a 35 year old Dover man had been shot once in the chest.  Additionally, while conducting their investigation, State Police learned that the victim was possibly involved in an unknown type of verbal altercation with a black male and female. 

 

During the altercation one of the two suspects brandished an unknown type of gun and fired an undetermined number of shots.  The victim however was only struck once in the chest area. 

 

Wednesday March 15, 2011 Apprehension of Hicks:

Delaware State Police have charged William H. Hicks-27 of Magnolia Delaware for the December 26th shooting of a 35 year old Dover man. 

 

William H. Hicks was arrested following a traffic stop in the 5000 block of DuPont Highway Smyrna Delaware around 2:52 p.m. for an unrelated investigation.  (A separate release concerning drugs found in Hicks’ possession will be prepared later today)

 

State Police have learned that on December 26, 2010 Tieanna K. Wilson-19 of Camden Delaware agreed to meet the victim at the end of Woodville Drive Magnolia.  When the victim arrived at Woodville Drive, Wilson entered the victim’s vehicle followed by William Hicks.  Hicks entered the rear passenger seat and displayed a handgun ordering the victim drive to his residence.  Hicks allegedly demanded drugs and money from the victim.     

 

The victim drove to the 500 block of Voshells Mill Star Hill Road; parked his vehicle and attempted to flee.  Hicks chased after the victim firing several shots none of which initially struck the victim.  The victim stopped running, placed his hands in the air and turned toward Hicks.  Hicks then allegedly fired a final shot at close range striking the victim in the upper torso. 

 

Delaware State Police believe Wilson conspired with Hicks to rob the victim of money and drugs.  Wilson and the victim are prior acquaintances.  It is unknown whether Hicks and the victim had prior encounters.     

 

The victim has been released from Christiana Hospital however is still recovering from serious injuries suffered during the shooting. 

 

State Police were able to link Hicks and Wilson as the persons responsible for orchestrating the robbery through exhausted follow up interviews.

 

Hicks was charged yesterday and incarcerated into James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $440,000 cash bond.   

 

State Police have not located Hicks’ accomplice, Tieanna Wilson and are seeking the public's help in locating her.  Tieanna is wanted for Attempted Murder First Degree, Robbery First Degree and Conspiracy First Degree.

Delaware State Police discovered that a 35 year old Dover man had been shot once in the chest.  Delaware State Police while conducting their investigation learned that the victim is believed to have been involved in an unknown type of verbal altercation with a black male and female. 

 

During the altercation one of the two suspects brandished an unknown type of gun and fired an undetermined number of shots.  The victim however was only struck once in the chest area. 

 

The suspects then entered a white 2003 Lincoln Town Car and fled but shortly thereafter abandoned it in the area of Lingo Drive Dover.  The vehicle was not believed to have been owned by the suspects.  Delaware State Police is continuing the investigation into the ownership however believed the victim initially had possession of it. 

 

The victim after being shot walked a short distance before collapsing and 911 being called by witnesses who heard shots that had been fired.  The victim was transported to Kent General Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. 

 

The black female in her 20’s, 5’02”-5’04” in height, thin build, dark complexion and a black male no further description available are currently being sought in connection to this shooting.
