DSP News Release:  Victim Shot at During Altercation

Seaford-On Monday March 14, 2011 Delaware State Police investigated a domestic incident in the 11000 block of Orange Blossom Lane Seaford Delaware.  The incident was reported to police around 12:09 p.m.

As a result of the State Police investigation, Preston W. Nailer-29 of Georgetown was charged with Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony and Reckless Endangering First Degree.  

The investigation revealed that a 35 year old victim was at the Seaford residence of a former female acquaintance gathering belonging.  The victim after gathering his belongings began walking to his car when he heard a gunshot.  When the victim turned to see where the shot came from, he observed Nailor pointing a chrome colored handgun at him.  The victim was not struck or injured by the single shot. 

The victim then turned and ran toward the female acquaintance’s residence for safety.  The female acquaintance was able to step between Nailor and the victim to stop any additional confrontation.  Nailor left the property and was later apprehended at his Georgetown residence.  (Nailor, the victim and above mentioned female are all acquaintances)  I have no additional details regarding the relationships.  

During a search of Nailor’s residence a .32 caliber handgun was recovered in his bedroom.  Nailor was taken into custody and arraigned on weapons charges.  Nailor was later released after posting $14,500 secured bond.
