TROOPERS IDENTIFY SUSPECT WANTED IN ROBBERY SPREE


DSP News Release:  Troopers Identify Suspect Wanted in Robbery Spree

·         030911, 10:00 p.m. Wawa 5632 Dupont Parkway, Smyrna

·         031011, 12:52 a.m. Wawa 2800 North Dupont Highway, Dover (Dover PD handling)

·         031011, 6:15 p.m. Shore Stop 4298 Dupont Parkway, Townsend

·         031011, 10:40 p.m. Wawa 5632 Dupont Parkway, Smyrna

·         031211, 2:20 p.m. 800 block West Mt Vernon Street, Smyrna

·         031211, 7:07 p.m. Valero 5703 Dupont Parkway, Smyrna

 

 

Suspect:

 

·         Larry J. Sartin-30 Smyrna, Delaware (Photos Attached)

·         5’11”, 196 lbs, Brown Hair, Brown Eyes

 

 

 

Charges:

 

·         Robbery First Degree (6 Counts)

 

Resume:

 

Delaware State Police Detectives have obtained warrants and are searching for a Smyrna man after being connected to six robberies that occurred over the past 5 days.

 

During the investigations, Detectives were able to positively identify and link Larry J. Sartin-30 of Smyrna to the six robberies including the latest two that occurred on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Smyrna.

 

On Saturday March 12, 2011 the following robberies occurred:

 

2:20 p.m.  The first robbery occurred in the 800 block West Mt Vernon Street, Smyrna.  This robbery occurred as a 20 year old male was making a pizza delivery to a residence on West Mt Vernon Street.  When the victim exited his vehicle, he was approached by Sartin and demanded money.  The victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of United States Currency.  Sartin fled on foot

 

7:07 p.m. The second robbery occurred at the Valero Gas Station 5703 Dupont Parkway, Smyrna when Sartin entered the business and approached the 47 year old male clerk who was located behind the counter.  Sartin demanded money from the cash register.  The victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of United States Currency.  Sartin exited the business and fled on foot.

 

Delaware State Police Detectives have obtained warrants charging Larry J. Sartin with Robbery First Degree (6 Counts) and related charges.  Detectives are actively searching for Sartin who should be considered armed and dangerous, as he implied that he had a weapon at each incident

 

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Larry J. Sartin, do not approach him and call 911 immediately.
