DSP News Release:  Camden Delaware Man Dies in Morning Crash (Updated Release 1:50 p.m.)

Dover-Delaware State Police is reporting that a Camden Delaware man has died from injuries sustained in an early morning crash.  The crash occurred on W. Denney’s Road W/O Blue Heron Road Dover around 8:35 a.m.

The crash occurred when a 2006 Dodge Caravan traveling eastbound on W. Denney’s Road, driven by Dennis C. Braxton-55 crossed a double solid line entering the westbound lane of travel.  The Caravan after entering the westbound lane collided head-on with a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling westbound.  The operator of the Ford pickup Luis A. Rosado-68 of Kenton Delaware suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.  Rosado is currently being treated and admitted into Kent General Hospital. 

Braxton was transported to Kent General Hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Braxton was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.  Rosado was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.  Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash for either driver.   

Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation but do not expect to charge Rosado in this crash investigation.  It currently is unknown why Braxton’s vehicle crossed the double solid line.

DSP News Release: Preliminary Information and Traffic Advisory

• Area of 1452 W. Denney’s Road between Sharon Hill Road and Blue Heron Road Dover

• Thursday March 10, 2011 8:35 a.m.

Dover-This is a preliminary release concerning a serious motor vehicle crash and road closure. 

Delaware State Police are on scene of a serious motor vehicle crash involving two passenger cars.  The crash was reported to State Police around 8:35 a.m. this morning. 

Preliminary information obtained suggests that the vehicles involved collided head on into each other.  Currently injuries are reported in both vehicles.  Emergency crews are also on scene attempting to extricate one trapped individual. 

Road Closure- W. Denney’s Road between Sharon Hill and Blue Heron Roads Dover.
