REHOBOTH BEACH MAN FACES HOME IMPROVEMENT FRAUD CHARGE

Lewes-Delaware State Police Tuesday March 8, 2011 investigated a Home Improvement case on Marlin Court Lewes Delaware.
The 29 year old Pennsylvania victim advised investigators that he and Kevin T. Worrell arranged a contractual agreement whereas the victim would pay $2,300 to Worrell for drywall work to be done. Detectives additionally learned that Worrell cashed the victim’s check however never initiated the drywall work.
Worrell after cashing the checking victim’s check contacted him advising he would start work once the victim’s check cleared the bank. The victim became suspicious of Worrell because his bank records indicated Worrell had already cashed his check. Worrell next advised the victim to stop payment on the current check and wire additional funds to pay for the drywall service attempting to deprive the victim of additional money.
Worrell was arraigned yesterday for one count of Theft by False Pretense over $1,500 and Home Improvement Fraud. Worrell was given a $2,000 unsecured bond, however remains incarcerated into Sussex Correctional institute on $68,500 cash bond for a March 3, 2011 arrest.

Rehoboth Beach-On March 3, 2011 Worrell was charged with 14 charges consisting of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Attempted Burglary 2nd degree, 3 counts Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Driving under the Influence of Drugs, Driving while Suspended, criminal Mischief, Shoplifting and 2 counts disorderly conduct.
State Police responded to the 500 block of 2nd Street Rehoboth Beach and apprehended Worrell attempting to break into the victim’s residence. Worrell was searched and found in possession of approximately 14 grams of cocaine, a hypodermic needle and an assortment of drug paraphernalia.
State Police also learned that Worrell earlier in the evening shoplifted a can of Red Bull from a Rehoboth area Wawa and became disorderly when confronted by the store clerk. Worrell fled from the Wawa and subsequently arrested for the attempted burglary.
Worrell was arraigned and remanded to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of 68,500 cash bond.
