Resume:

Camden-Delaware State Police Friday June 24, 2011 charged three Dover residents for their involvement in a reckless endangering incident which occurred Monday June 20th.  The incident happened on Palmer Road within the Palmer Park Development S/O Voshells Mill Star Hill Road.

On Monday June 20th a 29 year old man and woman were parked on Palmer Road Dover in their Jeep Cherokee when a Silver Ford Expedition blocked them from leaving.  While seated in their vehicle the victims were approached by suspects who brandished handguns.

The suspects flanked the Jeep and began discharging several rounds of ammunition in the direction of the victim’s vehicle.  The victims were able to flee the area but were chased by the suspects.

The operator of the Ford Expedition Shalonda M. Caldwell along with the other suspects pursued the victims, until they were involved in an accident at the intersection of SR 10 Lebanon Road and South State Street.  The crash involved the victim’s Jeep Cherokee and a Lincoln Town Car.  The victims and the occupants of the Lincoln Town Car were not seriously injured.

After the crash Shalonda Caldwell, Michael D. Evans, Brian I Caldwell, Pierre Downs and Travis Caldwell fled the scene.  State Police through the course of their investigation were able to identify the aforementioned persons as linked to the shooting incident.

The investigation further revealed the reckless endangering incident may have stemmed from an earlier altercation between the 30 year old male victim and Brian Caldwell.

The two victims were not harmed in the shooting incident.

On Friday June 24th Delaware State Police Detectives, State Police Special Operations Response team assisted by the Dover Police Department executed two search warrants resulting in the arrest of Pierre J. Downs, Brian I. Caldwell and Shalonda M Caldwell.

Pierre Downs, Brian and Shalonda Caldwell were each charged with 2 counts of Reckless Endangering, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited and Conspiracy.  Downs and Brian Caldwell following arraignment were each given $32,000 secured bond and remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.  Shalonda Caldwell was released after posting $32,000 secured bond.
