Dover-Thursday June 23rd Paul E. Delerme-25 of Dover was extradited from Florida to Delaware.  Delerme was formally charged and processed at Delaware State Police Troop 3 Woodside Delaware.   

 

Following arraignment Delerme was remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $130,000.000 cash bond.

WARRANTS OBTAINED IN DOVER PARKING LOT SHOOTING

Resume Update:

Dover-Delaware State Police Tuesday May 31, 2011 obtained an arrest warrant for Paul E. Delerme-25 of Dover Delaware.  The warrant against Delerme charges him with Attempted Murder First Degree and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. 

 

Delerme on Saturday May 21, 2011 is alleged to have been involved in an altercation with a 26 year old Camden Delaware man.  During the altercation Delerme pointed a small caliber handgun at the victim and fired at least two rounds of ammunition. 

 

The victim was struck in the neck and later hospitalized for his injuries.  The victim continues to recover from the gunshot wounds and is listed in stable condition (Christiana Hospital). 

 

State Police detectives through the course of their investigation developed numerous tips and investigative leads as to the gunman in this case.  State Police detectives also conducted search warrants, which lead to the recovery of a light green 1989 Chevrolet Caprice.  The night of the shooting witness information suggested that the suspect fled in a dark colored Chevrolet Caprice. 

 

A search warrant was executed at two different locations, one on the 2300 block of Bowers Beach Road and another on the 500 block of Schooner Way Dover Delaware.  The Chevrolet was located at the Bowers Beach address.  The two residences are occupied by acquaintances of Delerme, and are places he was known to frequent (NFD

 

Delaware State Police also had knowledge of Delerme fleeing to the State of Florida.  Delaware State Police coordinating with the US Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force were able to pinpoint Delerme’s location.  Today Delerme was picked up by the United States Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force at a residence in Tampa Florida. 

 

Delerme is now being detained at a Florida Correctional Facility on Delaware’s charges.  Delerme will be held in Florida for an undetermined amount of time, before proceeding through extradition procedures.

DSP News Release:  State Police Probe Shooting

  • 26 year old Camden Delaware man

 

Suspect(s):

  • Unknown sex, race NFD

 

 Resume:

Dover-A 26 year old Camden Delaware man is in stable but critical condition after being shot early Saturday morning.  The incident occurred in the unit block of Webbs Lane, in front of building “H” Autumn Run Apartment complex S/O Dover. 

 

Prior to the Saturday shooting, there were reports of approximately 30-40 persons congregating in the apartment complex parking lot when the victim was shot.  The 26 year old Camden man was struck in the neck by a small caliber round.  State Police detectives are not disclosing the number times the victim was struck by gunfire or the caliber of ammunition used, in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.   

 

State Police detectives are seeking suspect(s) and witness information regarding the shooting.  Detectives are also attempting to identify person or persons in a dark colored Chevrolet Caprice seen leaving the area just after the crime.  Currently there is no additional suspect information available. 

 

The victim was flown to Christian Hospital where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to his neck.  The victim is listed in stable but guarded condition.
