DSP News Release:  Tractor Trailer Crash Carrying Mobile Home Delays Coastal Highway Traffic

Resume:

Milford-Delaware State Police earlier today investigated a tractor trailer crash on Coastal Highway at Waples Pond which slowed traffic for several hours. 

State Troopers responded to the scene just after 2 pm and discovered a double wide mobile home stretched across the roadway.  The investigation revealed that a 1992 International tractor trailer was southbound on Coastal Highway near Milford Delaware prior to the crash. 

The tractor trailer driven by 72 year old Lynwood W. Fessler of Leola Pennsylvania drifted onto the southbound shoulder of Coastal Highway and struck a guardrail. 

After striking the guardrail the tractor trailer then veered back across the southbound lanes into the grass median of Coastal Highway.  The mobile home situated on the tractor trailer became dislodged falling onto and blocking the left travel lane.  No other vehicles were involved. 

Fessler was cited for Failure to maintain his lane and released.  Fessler was not injured.
