DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Robbery of Dover Grocery

 

Location: Tia’s Grocery Store, 3847 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 9:55 p.m.

 

Suspects:

 

Suspect #1: Black male, 5’10”-6’02” tall, 160-180 lbs. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, white sneakers, and a black mask. He was also armed with a handgun.

 

Suspect #2: Black male, 5’08”-6’00” tall, 160-180 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, long yellow shorts, black sneakers, and a black mask. He was also armed with a handgun.

 

Victim:  49 year old female employee

Dover- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Dover area grocery store that occurred late last night.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 9:55 p.m. last night, Saturday, June 18, as two male suspects entered the Tia’s Grocery Store located in the 3800 block of N. DuPont Highway, Dover. The suspects, who were both armed with handguns and wearing masks over their faces, confronted a 49 year old female employee of the store and demanded money from her. One of the suspects then walked behind the sales counter and removed a metal box containing an undisclosed amount of cash. Both suspects then fled from the store. The female employee was not injured.

 

Detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact robbery detectives at Troop 3 at 302-697-4454 ext. 0.
