DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Strong Arm Robbery
Location: Rite Aid Pharmacy, 1999 Pulaski Highway, Bear, DE
Date of Occurrence: Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 2:30 p.m.
Suspect: White male (no further description is available)
Victim: 39 year old Bear, DE woman
Resume: Bear- The Delaware State Police are investigating the strong arm robbery of a Bear, DE woman as she was leaving a local pharmacy yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. yesterday, June 15, as a 39 year old female was exiting the Rite Aid Pharmacy located in the 1900 block of Pulaski Highway in Bear. As the victim walked to her vehicle, she was approached by a male suspect who asked to use her cell phone to make a call. When the victim advised the suspect that she did not have a phone, he asked her for change. The victim advised the suspect that she did have change and walked to her car in order to retrieve the money with the suspect following. As the victim reached her car, the suspect grabbed the victim’s bag containing prescription medications that she had just received from the pharmacy. The suspect then fled on foot and was last seen running toward the Fox Run Apartments. The victim was not inured.
