DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Strong-Arm Robbery in Newark

 

Location: DE Rt. 4 and Harmony Road, Newark, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 3:15 p.m.

 

Suspects:

 

-Suspect #1: Black male, 5’09” tall, 145 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and shorts.

 

-Suspect #2: Black male, 5’08”-5’11” tall, 130-150 lbs, with black hair. He was last seen wearing a red and white striped t-shirt, white shorts, and sneakers.

 

Victim:  26 year old Newark, DE man

Newark- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the strong armed robbery of a pedestrian that occurred yesterday afternoon in Newark.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, as a 26 year old male subject was standing at the intersection of DE Rt. 4 and Harmony Road waiting for the traffic light to change so that he could cross the roadway. The victim was then approached by two male suspects who grabbed him by the arms and demanded that he empty his pockets. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to them. They then fled on foot and were last seen running southbound on Harmony Road. The victim was not injured.

 

Detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact Delaware State Police Troop 6 at 302-633-5000 ext. 0.
