MOTORCYCLIST IN CRITICAL CONDITION FOLLOWING CRASH

DSP News Release: Motorcyclist in Critical Condition Following Crash

Resume: New Castle-Delaware State Police Friday evening June 10th investigated a crash on DuPont Parkway N/O Quigley Boulevard New Castle, which left a Wilmington man in critical condition.
The crash occurred around 9:12 pm when a Dodge Durango attempted to cross the southbound lanes of DuPont Parkway. The Dodge operated by Douglas C. Riley-53 of New Castle initially stopped for a stop sign, however then crossed the lanes in a westerly direction.
The Dodge pulled into the path of a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Jason A. Patton-40 of Wilmington. Patton was traveling southbound prior to the crash. Patton was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained severe head trauma. Patton was transported to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Patton was not wearing a helmet.
A 46 year old New Castle woman and passenger in the Durango was treated and released from Christiana Hospital for minor injures.
Douglas C. Riley was cited for Failure to Remain Stopped and released. |
