Resume: Dover-Delaware State Police Wednesday June 8, 2011 charged a Georgetown man with stealing Catalytic Converters from off vehicles. State Police detectives were notified by the Seaford Police Department of a person of interest involved in recent catalytic converter thefts.
The Seaford Police Department received information from an area salvage yard after William M. Pusey-31 of Georgetown attempted to sell a quantity of catalytic converters. Seaford Police investigators checked with area Law Enforcement officers regarding recent thefts which identified the crime trend as occurring around Dover. Seaford Police provided State Police with the information which added in the investigation.
Pusey for several weeks would ride a bus from Georgetown to Dover and enter various parking lots to steal catalytic converters. Pusey used a cutting tool to remove the converters and then transport them to salvage yards for sale.
Pusey was charged with 8 counts of theft, 5 counts of criminal mischief and criminal trespass. Following his arraignment Pusey was released on $11,750 unsecured bond. William M. Pusey |
