Resume: Millsboro-Delaware State Police today Arrested Michael J. Dorman-26 of Millsboro Delaware for a series of thefts at the Delmarva Power and Light Company located in the 700 block of E. DuPont Highway Millsboro Delaware.
Wednesday June 8th State Police responded to a burglar alarm in the storage yard of Delmarva Power and Light. A State Police K9 handler’s canine began a search and alerted on a scent. The canine tracked down Dorman who was attempting hide in a grassy area within the storage yard.
Dorman was taken into custody and charged with attempted burglary and theft, related to the June 8th incident. State Police detectives additionally charged Dorman with prior thefts at the Delmarva facility which occurred on April 29, May 19 and June 6th of this year.
On April 29 Dorman used a cutting tool to cut a section of a barbed wired fence surrounding the storage yard. Once inside Dorman stole quantities of copper wiring. Dorman on all three previous occasions stole approximately $1,200 worth of copper wiring and additionally caused $500.00 damage to the fence. On each occasion Dorman entered through the section of fence he had previously cut.
Dorman was arrested on 15 charges related to Attempted Burglary, Theft, Possession of Burglar tools, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief and Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony.
Dorman was later arraigned and released on $15,700 unsecured bond.
