Newark-Delaware State Police are currently on scene of a Tractor Trailer crash on the ramp from I95 southbound which connects with DE 896 southbound.  The ramp for I95 southbound to DE 896 is currently closed.  Additionally DE 896 southbound S/O I95 is also closed.  The I95 ramp and DE 896 will be closed for an extended period of time.

The crash investigation revealed that the tractor trailer, driven by Percy Green-58 of Willingboro New Jersey was traveling on the I95 southbound ramp when his tractor trailer traveled off the edge of the roadway.  Green appeared to be traveling at an unsafe speed prior to the crash.

The tractor trailer partially turned over damaging the diesel fuel tank of the truck.  The tanker is transporting Non-Hazardous latex; however there does not appear to be any release of this material.

DNREC, HAZMAT, Belvedere Fire Company and Delaware State Police are on scene working on the crash.

The roadways in this area will be closed for an extended amount of time in order to transfer the containers contents to another tanker.  Motorist should expect delays for most of the day.
