Delaware State Police were originally called to the Super Lodge motel on West Avenue New Castle to investigate an unrelated menacing complaint. While at the scene Troopers were approached by Teiera J. Rider-20 of New Castle Delaware.
Rider is alleged to have shouted profanities at the Troopers, demanding they take her to jail. After Rider refused to calm her behavior, Troopers began to initiate arrest procedures. While attempting to affect the arrest of Rider, she spat and kicked Troopers several times. The State Police Officers did not require medical attention.
After being transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2, Rider kicked another Trooper and continued her violent behavior.
