Resume:

New Castle-Delaware State Police Saturday June 4th arrested a New Castle woman after she was being disorderly, and demanding Troopers take her to jail.

Delaware State Police were originally called to the Super Lodge motel on West Avenue New Castle to investigate an unrelated menacing complaint.  While at the scene Troopers were approached by Teiera J. Rider-20 of New Castle Delaware.

Rider is alleged to have shouted profanities at the Troopers, demanding they take her to jail.  After Rider refused to calm her behavior, Troopers began to initiate arrest procedures.  While attempting to affect the arrest of Rider, she spat and kicked Troopers several times.  The State Police Officers did not require medical attention.

After being transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2, Rider kicked another Trooper and continued her violent behavior.

State Police charged Teiera J. Rider with resisting arrest, 3 counts of offensive touching of a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief, underage consumption of alcohol and disorderly conduct.  Rider following arraignment was remanded to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute in lieu of $3,600 secured bond.

Upon conducting a computer inquiry on Rider’s wanted person status, it revealed she had an active court capias stemming from a 2010 traffic crash where she spat on a Wilmington Police Officer.
