Resume: Newark- The Delaware State Police have identified the 39 year old Newark, DE man that was struck by the CSX train late last night as Aric Pringle.
The investigation into the incident is still on-going and no further details are available at this point.

DSP News Release: Detectives Probe Pedestrian Death on Train Tracks
Location: CSX tracks located behind the 100 block of Madison Drive, Newark, DE
Date of Occurrence: Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:40 p.m.
Victim: 39 year old Newark, DE man
Resume: Newark- Delaware State Police detectives are investigating the death of a Newark man who was struck by a train last night in Newark, DE.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. last night as troopers were called to the CSX rail tracks located behind the 100 block of Madison Drive, Newark, DE for the report of a male subject being struck by an eastbound CSX train. Initial indication is that the train’s conductor and engineer both observed a subject lying on the rail tracks and were unable to stop the 52 car freight train in time to avoid striking the victim. Police were then contacted and arrived to find a male victim, later identified as a 39 year old Newark, DE man, dead. His body was turned over to the medical examiners office to determine the exact cause of death.
This incident is still under investigation. The victim’s name is being withheld at this time.
