TWO CHARGED IN RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

DSP News Release: Two Charged in Residential Burglary

Resume: Millsboro-Delaware State Police while investigating a burglary complaint locate suspects in a nearby residence. State Police where initially investigating a burglary complaint in the 34000 block of S. Taylor Drive in the Pot-Nets Creekside development Millsboro Delaware.
Upon surveying the residence State Police discovered items inside the residence including furniture and glass items had been damaged along with food items missing. The 59 year old victim suspected an acquaintance as being the perpetrators in the crime.
State Police next interviewed a nearby resident, who earlier observed two individuals just outside the victim’s residence. The neighbor further told the Trooper that the two individuals were invited into his residence due to the heat, and believed to still be inside.
When the Trooper entered the neighbor’s residence he discovered Michael Daday-20 and a 17 year old female teen both of Bethlehem Pennsylvania hiding in a closet. Daday and the teen were taken into custody and transported to Troop 7 Lewes.
Daday provided Troopers with a false name, and signed documents also using a fraudulent name. When Troopers discovered Daday’s true identity a computer inquiry revealed he was a fugitive from Northampton County Sheriff’s Office in Pennsylvania. (I do not have information as to why Northampton County wants Daday)
Daday while in custody at Troop 7 attempted to escape, however was appended after being unable to exit the secure building.
Daday and the 17 year old teen were both charged with Burglary, theft, conspiracy and criminal mischief. Daday was additionally arrested for Criminal Impersonation, Forgery and Attempted Escape. Daday was arraigned and remanded to Sussex Correctional institute in lieu of $5,000 secured bond. The 17 year old teen was released to the custody of a parent/guardian. Michael Daday |
