TROOPERS PROBE BANK PARKING LOT ROBBERY

DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Parking Lot Robbery
Location: TD Bank, 82 Christiana Road, New Castle, DE
Date of Occurrence: Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.
Suspect: Hispanic male, 35-40 years of age, 5’09” tall, 135-140 lbs, with black hair in an afro style. He was last seen wearing a white t-shit, blue shorts, and dark colored sneakers. He was also armed with a handgun.
Victim:
-37 year old Philadelphia, PA man
Resume: New Castle- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a bank customer that occurred yesterday afternoon in New Castle.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday as a 37 year old man had exited the TD Bank located in the unit block of Christiana Road, New Castle, and was sitting in his car. The victim was then approached by a male suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s money. The victim informed the suspect that he did not have any money, but did have a credit card. The suspect and the victim then began struggling over the credit card at which time the suspect struck the victim several times about the head. The suspect then fled with the victim’s credit card. He was last seen exiting the parking lot in a dark colored SUV with tinted windows. The victim received minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact robbery detectives at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
