DSP News Release:  Frankford Man Arrested for Sending Explicit Text to a Minor

Harrington-Delaware State Police Saturday July 30, 2011 began an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct committed by a 28 year old Frankford Delaware man.  The offense occurred off of Farmington Road on the Delaware State Fairgrounds complex Harrington Delaware. 

State Police detectives were contacted by two female victims ages 17 and 16 regarding inappropriate contact and text messages received from Michael W. Bunting of Frankford Delaware.  While on the fairgrounds the 17 year old victim was approached by Bunting and became acquaintances while they both showed animals at the fair. 

Bunting through the course of contact obtained the victim’s cellular number.  Bunting is alleged to have sent the17 year old victim several text messages suggesting they get together and engage in sexual acts. 

The second incident involving Bunting occurred the evening of July 29, 2011.  During this incident Bunting is alleged to have solicited a conversation with a 16 year old female victim.  While interacting with the victim Bunting had unsolicited contact with the victim, by touching her chest causing her offense and alarm. 

Saturday July 30^th Bunting was taken into custody without incident and charged with Sexual Solicitation of a Child under 18, Unlawful Sexual Contact Second Degree and Harassment.  Bunting is currently being held in the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $15,100 cash bond.
