DETECTIVES SEEK HELP IN IDENTIFYING BURGLARY SUSPECT

DSP News Release: Detectives Seek Help in Identifying Burglary Suspect
Location: Stop and Shop, 373 E. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, DE
Date of Occurrence: Monday, July 25, 2011 at 3:25 a.m.
Suspect: Male suspect (no further description). He was last seen wearing a black colored baseball cap, white pants, black shoes, and a black shirt. He also had a white rag or shirt covering his face.
Resume: Newark- Delaware State Police burglary detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a subject who burglarized a Newark business earlier this week.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:25 a.m. on Monday, July 25 as a male suspect used a rock to break out the glass on the entrance doors of the Stop and Shop located in the 300 block of E. Chestnut Hill Road in Newark. The suspect then proceeded to enter the business and removed multiple cartons of cigarettes valued at over $4000.00 from behind the sales counter. The suspect then fled from the business in an unknown direction.
The Delaware State Police are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact Detective Steve Rizzo at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 211.
