DSP News Release:  Three Injured in Frederica Area Collision

Frederica- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a two vehicle crash in which three people were injured that occurred this afternoon in Frederica, DE.

The crash happened at approximately 4:45 p.m. today as Matthew Hood, 18, was operating a 2010 Nissan and was traveling westbound on Frederica Road, approaching Bay Road in Frederica. As Hood entered the intersection, the right front of his vehicle struck the front of a 2001 Land Rover that was traveling on southbound Bay Road and which was being operated by Mary Fowler, 58. After the collision both vehicles traveled off of the roadway and came to rest in a field.

Mary Fowler was removed from the scene by the Delaware State Police helicopter and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries which do not appear to be life threatening. A 61 year old passenger in Fowler’s vehicle as well as Matthew Hood were removed from the scene by EMS and also transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where they were also treated for non life threatening injuries. Matthew Hood was cited by Troopers with failure to yield the right of way.
