ARREST MADE IN JULY 2, 2011 ROBBERY/SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

Seaford-Delaware State Police today charged Lamont L. Hadley-39 of Seaford Delaware in connection to a Robbery/Sexual Assault investigated July 2, 2011.  The robbery/assault occurred at the victim’s residence on Park Circle Seaford Delaware. 

 

The initial investigation revealed Hadley knocked on the victim’s residence door around 2:53 am Saturday July 2nd.  The victim opened the door and Hadley entered her residence.  Hadley made mention to the victim that a neighbor had sent him to her residence.  Once inside the residence Hadley used the victim’s bathroom and upon exiting he displayed an unknown object toward the victim. 

 

Hadley ordered the victim to remove her clothing at which time he sexually assaulted her.  Following the sexual assault Hadley took the victim’s purse, jewelry and other personal items before fleeing the residence. 

 

The victim called 911 and was transported to Nanticoke Hospital where she was treated and released for injuries sustained during the crime. 

 

July 4, 2011 State Police investigators utilized the services of a Federal Alcohol/Tobacco and Firearm’s sketch artist to assist with the investigation.  After obtaining a composite sketch of Hadley State Police detectives continued to conduct investigative interviews and eventually identified Hadley as a potential suspect. 

 

Based on a collection of evidence and information obtained throughout the criminal investigation Delaware State Police detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Lamont L. Hadley.  Hadley was arrested at his residence today July 20th without incident. 

 

Hadley is charged with 8 counts of Rape First Degree, Robbery First Degree and Burglary First Degree.  Following his arraignment Hadley was remanded to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $250,000 secured bond. 

 

 

 

 

DSP News Release: Detectives Probe Assault/Robbery of Seaford Woman

 

Location: 25000 block of Park Circle Mobile Gardens, Brickyard Road, Seaford, DE

 

Date and Time of Occurrence:  Saturday, July 02, 2011 at 2:53 a.m.

 

Suspect: Black male approximately 30 years of age, 5’05”-5’06” tall with an average build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a pair of blue jeans and a gray shirt.

 

Victim: 64 year old Seaford, DE female

 

Resume:  

Seaford- Delaware State Police detectives are currently investigating the assault and robbery of a 64 year old Seaford, DE woman that occurred early this morning.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. today as a male suspect knocked on the door of a residence located in the 25000 block of the Park Circle Mobile Gardens, in Seaford. After the 64 year old female homeowner opened the door the suspect entered the home at which time he then sexually assaulted her. After the assault the suspect removed some of the victim’s items from the home and then fled in an unknown direction.  The victim then contacted 9-1-1 and was subsequently transported by EMS to the Nanticoke Hospital where she was treated and released with minor injuries.

 

The investigation into this assault in continuing and detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact Troop 4 at 302-856-5850 ext. 214.
