SR#1 between DE#273 and Churchmans Road has been reopened for traffic in both directions.  Motorists should expect delays as the volume of traffic clears. 

The crash is still being investigated with details to be released later tonight.

Newark-The Delaware State Police are currently on-scene of a serious motor vehicle crash at SR#1 in the area of the Christiana Mall, Newark.

Troopers are advising that SR#1 in both directions is closed between DE#273 and Churchmans Road and will remain closed for an extended period of time.  Troopers are advising motorists to avoid the area completely and plan alternate routes.  An updated release will be provided as information related to the crash investigation becomes available.
