DSP News Release: Troopers Investigating Attempted Robbery, McDonalds, Newark

 

Location

  • Parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant, 4150 Ogletown Road, Newark, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  

  • Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 9:30 p.m.

 

Victim:

  • 25 year old female

 

Suspect(s):  

  • White male, 20-25 years of age, 5’10”-5’11” tall, 200-220 lbs, large build.  He was last seen wearing a black shirt, jean shorts, and black baseball cap, and armed with unknown type handgun.

Newark- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on Wednesday evening in the parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant located at 4150 Ogletown Road, Newark.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. as the 25 year old female victim was seated in her vehicle in the parking lot of the McDonalds after picking up a food order at the drive-thru window.  The victim was seated in her vehicle as she was approached by the suspect who pointed a handgun at her and demanded money.  The victim started to scream, and the suspect fled on foot into a waiting vehicle and fled the area.  No description of the fleeing vehicle is available.
