DSP News Release: Marydel Man Held on Breach of Bail Conditions and Criminal Mischief to Police Car

Resume:

Marydel-Delaware State Police around 10 pm Monday evening were called to a residence in the 300 block of Halltown Road for a domestic disturbance.

 

When Troopers arrived at the victim’s residence they observed extensive damage to the victim’s kitchen stove, crystal cabinet containing collectibles and electrical fixtures amounting to approximately $5,000 damage. 

 

Troopers contacted Brian R. Bennett inside the residence still damaging items.  Bennett was taken into custody and transported to State Police Troop 3 for processing.  While being transported to Troop 3, Bennett began kicking the rear window of the transporting Troopers cruiser and shattered the window. 

 

Bennett was charged with 1 count of Criminal Mischief $5,000 over and 1 count of Criminal Mischief under $1,000 and Breach of Release.  Bennett was previously charged on July 5th 2011 for offensive touching and criminal trespass with the same victim.  Bennett was order by the courts not to have contact with the victim after the earlier arrest. 

 

Bennett was remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $10,500 cash bail.
