GEORGETOWN MAN INJURED IN SCOOTER CRASH

DSP News Release: Georgetown Man Injured in Scooter Crash

Resume: Fenwick-A Georgetown man sustained non-life threatening injures following a collision with a Chrysler passenger van Wednesday afternoon. Delaware State Police responded to SR 54 W/O Fenwick Island Delaware approximately .2 miles W/O Dukes Road to investigate a personal injury crash involving a Scooter and van.
The crash occurred around 3:35 pm when a Scooter driven by Eugene A. Sprout of Georgetown crashed into the bumper of a Chrysler passenger van. The van was traveling eastbound on SR 54 slowing for traffic when it was struck from the rear. The van operator Joseph E. Long Jr was not injured in the crash.
Eugene Sprout was thrown from his scooter and sustained a severe head laceration along with minor abrasions. Sprout was transported to Beebe Hospital where he is currently being treated. Release information is currently not available.
Delaware State Police charged Sprout with Following too Close, Failure to Register a Moped and Failure to have Insurance Identification and released. |
