Resume: Lewes-Delaware State Police Tuesday evening July 5th arrested an Elkton Maryland and Newark Delaware men following a traffic stop on Coastal Highway near Lewes around 11:17 p.m.
State Police have arrested James Jordan-27 of Elkton Maryland along with his passenger Shane P. Prucino-25 of Newark Delaware for drug and associated charges.
A State Trooper on routine patrol observed a 1992 Lincoln passenger car driven by James Jordan traveling southbound on Coastal Highway at an excessive speed. The Trooper conducted a traffic stop and when she contacted James Jordan observed a distinctive smell of burnt marijuana emanating from inside the Lincoln.
A subsequent search of Jordan and his passenger Shane P. Prucino-25 of Newark Delaware yielded several Oxycodone pills with an approximate total weight 4.76 grams and several Oxymorphone pills with a net weight of 3.44 grams. Also seized during the search was a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia used to inhale narcotics.
Jordan and Prucino were both charged with Trafficking MDMA (Ecstasy), Possession with Intent to Deliver a Narcotic, Conspiracy, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and other related crimes. Jordan was additionally arrested for Driving a Vehicle under the Influence of a Drug, Failure to Have Insurance Identification and Failure to Signal a Lane change.
Jordan and Prucino were both remanded to the Sussex Correctional Institute on $38,350 and $36,000 secured bond respectively.
