Resume: Georgetown-With the help of an alert citizen Delaware State Police were able to apprehend two teens attempting to break into a residence.
Delaware State Police Tuesday July 5th just after 11:00 a.m. were called to the unit block of Marcella Street in Fish Hook Mobile Home Park Georgetown Delaware. The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center received a 911 call from a concerned citizen regarding two individuals attempting to unlawfully enter a home.
State Police Troop 4 officers responded to Marcella Street and apprehended Benjamin A. Steward-19 of Millsboro and his 17 year old female passenger as they were about to leave the crime scene in Steward’s vehicle.
When Troopers inspected the rear door to the victim’s residence they observed fresh pry marks left by a chisel still in Steward’s possession.
State Police detectives charged Steward and the 17 year old Georgetown teen with Attempted Burglary, Possession of Burglar Tools, Conspiracy, Attempted Theft and criminal mischief.
Following arraignment Steward was remanded to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $9,500 secured bond. The 17 year old teen was released after posting $11,000 secured bond.
