DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Motel Robbery

Location: Budget Motor Lodge, 140 S. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE

Date and Time of Occurrence:  Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 4:15 a.m.

Suspects:

Suspect #1: Black male, 20-25 years of age, 6’00”-6’02” tall, 170-180 lbs. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a beige t-shirt, and was armed with a hand gun.

Suspect#2: Black male, 5’09”-5’11” tall. 190-200 lbs. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a beige shirt and also had a blue cloth covering his face.

Victim: 54 year old female clerk

New Castle- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a New Castle area motel that occurred early yesterday morning.  

The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. on July 5, as two male suspects entered the Budget Motor Lodge located in the 100 block of S. DuPont Highway in New Castle. The suspects, one armed with a handgun, confronted the 54 year old female clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspects. They then fled from the motel in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured.
