DSP News Release:  Dover Woman Injured in Rt. 1 Crash

Middletown- The Delaware State Police investigated a two car crash involving an overturned vehicle that occurred this morning on DE Rt. 1 in Middletown.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:55 a.m. as Shauna Lail, 33, was operating a Honda Accord and was traveling northbound on DE Rt. 1 in the right hand lane. Lail’s vehicle began to enter into the left hand lane of northbound Rt. 1 directly in front of a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo that was being operated by Keisha A. Kilson, causing her to run off of the roadway. Kilson’s vehicle then traveled across the grass median and slid to the edge of the southbound lanes. Her vehicle then overturned several times across the southbound lanes before coming to rest in the grass west of the highway.

Keisha Kilson, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported from the scene by the Delaware State Police helicopter where she was treated for her injuries which are not considered to be life threatening. Shauna Lail was not injured. She was cited by troopers with making an improper lane change and failure to have her insurance card in her possession.
