GEORGETOWN MAN CHARGED AFTER SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH


DSP News Release:  Georgetown Man Charged after Single Vehicle Crash

 

Location: Southbound Foulk Road north of DE Rt. 202 (Concord Pike), Wilmington, DE

 

Date and Time of Occurrence:  Friday, July 01, 2011 at 7:00 a.m.

 

Operator/Vehicle:

 

Operator: James A. Hudgins, 35, Georgetown, DE

Vehicle: 2000 Chevrolet Extended Cab pick up truck

 

Charges:

 

-Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

-No Proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance

-Failure to Stay in a Lane of Travel

-No License in Possession

-No Registration in Possession

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have charged a Georgetown man after a one vehicle crash that occurred this morning north of Wilmington.

 

The incident occurred as James Hudgins, 35, was operating a Chevrolet pick up truck and was traveling southbound on Foulk Road just north of Concord Pike in Wilmington. For an unknown reason, Hudgin’s vehicle left the edge of the roadway where it then struck a guardrail and overturned. Hudgins, who was wearing a seatbelt, had to be extracted from his vehicle by EMS. He was then transported from the scene and transported to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for non life threatening injuries. Troopers cited Hudgins with the above list of charges.

 

Southbound Foulk Road was closed for approximately one hour as the crash was cleared.
