TWO INJURED IN SEAFORD AREA CRASH

DSP News Release: Two Injured in Seaford Area Crash

Resume: Seaford-Delaware State Police Monday January 31, 2011 investigated a two vehicle crash at the intersection of SR 18 Cannon and Camp Roads Seaford E/O Sussex Highway.
The crash is reported to have occurred around 3:13 p.m. as a 1994 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Norman Hughes of Bridgeville was traveling eastbound on Cannon Road. The second vehicle a 1998 Volvo S-90 driven by Rebecca Mann was southbound on Camp Road prior to the crash.
The crash occurred due to the Volvo operator disregarding a stop sign. (Hughes vehicle had the right of way). The Volvo pulled into the path of the Dodge pickup. This resulted in the pick up truck colliding into the passenger side of the Volvo.
Norman Hughes was not injured as a result of the crash. Rebecca Mann sustained head lacerations from the crash. The daughter of Mann Jennifer Grabowski and their Irish Setter were ejected from the Volvo. Grabowski was transported to Nanticoke Hospital for unspecified injures. Mann was also transported to Nanticoke Hospital for her injuries. The Irish Setter died from injuries sustained in the crash. Traffic in the area of the crash was interrupted for a couple hours as the crash was investigated. Delaware State Police is continuing their investigation and no charges have been issued. |
