DSP News Release:  Shooting at IBEW Union Hall, New Castle

Location:  IBEW Union Hall Local 313, 814 West Basin Road, New Castle, DE

Date of Occurrence:   Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 1:30 a.m.

Victim:  20 year old Philadelphia Man

Suspect:   Black Male, 18-21 years of age, 5’08”-6’0” tall, wearing all black clothing, armed with handgun (No further description)

Resume:

New Castle-   Delaware State Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in the parking lot of the IBEW Union Hall, New Castle.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning as a 20 year old Philadelphia man was leaving a party at the IBEW Union Hall.  An altercation ensued in the parking lot between the victim and a group of male subjects when shots were fired.  The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.  The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital by friends and was listed in stable condition.
