STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY OF TOWNSEND GAS STATION


DSP News Release: State Police Investigate Robbery of Townsend Gas Station

 

Location:  Shore Stop/Valero, 4235 S. DuPont Highway, Townsend, DE

 

Date of Occurrence: Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 8:10 p.m.

 

Victim: 

 

-16 year old Townsend, DE male (customer)

-18 year old Townsend, DE female (employee)

 

 

Suspects:  

 

Suspect #1: Black male, 5’07” tall and 170 lbs. He was dressed in all black and was armed with two handguns.

 

Suspect #2: Black male, 6’02” tall and 150 lbs. He was dressed in all black and was armed with a shotgun.

 

Resume:  

Townsend- The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Townsend area gas station that occurred yesterday evening.

 

The incident occurred as two male suspects entered the Shore Stop/Valero Station located in the 4200 block of S. DuPont Highway, Townsend at approximately 8:10 p.m. One of the suspects, who was armed with two handguns, confronted the 18 year old clerk and demanded money from the cash register while the second suspect, who was armed with a handgun, ordered a 16 year old male customer to the ground. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, both suspects fled from the store and were last seen running through the parking lot. The victims were not injured.
