DSP News Release: Bridgeville Woman Succumbs to Injuries Sustained in January 9^th Crash

Bridgeville-Delaware State Police Sunday January 9, 2011 investigated a serious motor vehicle crash on Newton Road W/O Adams Road Bridgeville Delaware. The crash occurred around 1:21 p.m.

The investigation revealed that the Chevrolet Cavalier was westbound on Newton Road.  A 2008 Toyota Avalon was eastbound on Newton Road approaching Adams Road.  The Chevrolet Cavalier began to rotate and traveled into the eastbound lanes colliding with the Toyota.  The weather at the time of the crash was reported to be snowing. 

As a result of the collision Suzanne Blaher a passenger in the Chevrolet Cavalier sustained internal and head injuries.  Blaher was transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.  Blaher pronounced deceased on January 21, 2011 as a result of the January 9^th crash. 

Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation.
