DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Strong Arm Robbery at Jewelry Store

Location:  Del Haven Jewelers, 4737 Concord Pike, Concord Mall, Wilmington, DE

Date of Occurrence:    Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 7:35 p.m.

Victim: 

-26 year old Wilmington female (employee)

Suspect:  Black male with a large build and a beard. He was last seen wearing glasses, a tan golf hat, and a brown jacket.

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are investigating a strong arm robbery that occurred at the Concord mall on Rt. 202 in Wilmington last night.

The incident began as a male suspect entered the Del Haven Jewelers located inside of the Concord Mall at approximately 7:35 p.m. The suspect asked to look at rings that were on display in the store and as the victim was holding a diamond ring in her hand valued at over $9000.00, the suspect snatched it from her and fled from the store in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.
