UPDATE, DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE STABBING

The victim in the stabbing incident at the Wawa Convenience Store located on Limestone Road in Marshalton that occurred yesterday afternoon has been identified as a 27 year old Newark, DE man. The victim is listed as critical but stable condition at the Christiana Hospital.
The investigation into this incident is continuing and detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact detectives at Troop 2 at 302-834-2620.

DSP News Release: Detectives Investigate Stabbing
Location: Wawa Convenience Store, 2030 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE
Date of Occurrence: January 18, 2011 at 3:20 p.m.
Victim: Unknown male subject
Suspects:

Resume: Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a stabbing that occurred this afternoon in Pike Creek.
The preliminary investigation has determined that at approximately 3:20 p.m. this afternoon, a male victim entered the Wawa located in the 2000 block of Limestone Road in Wilmington. The victim was in the company of two other male subjects. All three entered the bathroom of the store, however; a short time later, the two male suspects ran from the store with the victim giving chase. The victim then returned to the store, where he collapsed to the floor suffering from an apparent stab wound to the back. The suspects fled in an unknown type of vehicle.
The victim was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for his injuries. He is currently in critical but stable condition.
This incident is still under investigation. More information will be released when it becomes available.
