TEEN ASSAULTED DURING ROBBERY


DSP News Release:  Teen Assaulted During Robbery

 

Location:  Wooded area behind Concord High School, 2501 Ebright Road, Wilmington, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:   Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:30 pm

 

Victim:  17 year old male

 

Suspect:   Unknown Suspect(s) at this time

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery and assault of a 17 year old male that occurred in the area of the Concord High School football field late last night.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. as the 17 year old victim was walking through the area of the football field located in the rear of the Concord High School.  The victim indicated that as he was walking, he was approached by a large group of individuals that was gathered in the same area.  The group of suspects chased the victim and proceeded to assault him.  The victim advised that the suspects removed personal property from his pockets and fled.  The victim sustained head injuries from the assault and was transported to A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children, where he was admitted in serious condition.  The investigation is ongoing.
