SEVEN CHARGED FOLLOWING BRIDGEVILLE DRUG INVESTIGATION

DSP News Release: 7 Charged Following Bridgeville Drug Investigation

Resume: Bridgeville-Thursday January 6, 2011 Delaware State Police Sussex Drug Unit and Delaware State Police Sussex Governors Task Force concluded a two month investigation into illegal drug sales in the Walker’s Mill Mobile Home Park community Bridgeville Delaware.
During the State Police investigation on January 6th they observed what appeared to be drug activity at a vacant residence in the 11000 block of 5th Street Walker’s Mill MHP. Delaware State Police observed 6 persons trespassing on the property owned by Walker’s Mill Mobile Home Park.
Delaware State Police next converged on the area at which time 5 of the 6 previously mentioned individuals began to flee. Delaware State Police was able to eventually detain all 5 individuals who fled from the property.
Delaware State Police charged the following individuals with drug and trespassing related charges. Joseph R. Palmer-18 of Bridgeville was found in possession of approximately 22 grams of marijuana and an additional 1.8 grams of marijuana was seized from his car. George L. Williams-22 of Bridgeville was in possession of 4 individually wrapped bags containing approximately 15 grams of marijuana and additionally possessed 3 Percocet pills. Cheyenne Vazquez-19 of Seaford was found in possession of approximately 3 grams of marijuana and was charged with tampering with evidence when he attempted to swallow the marijuana prior to being apprehended. Michael D Lewis-20 of Bridgeville was in possession of approximately 19 grams of marijuana individually wrapped in 11 bags. Delaware State Police also seized an additional 16 grams of marijuana and scale off the porch of the residence on 5th Walker’s Mill MHP which the 6 individuals were congregating.
Also charged with trespassing and resisting arrest were Roosevelt Sessoms-21 of Bridgeville and a 16 year old juvenile male who was later released to the custody of his parents.
Delaware State Police additionally arrested Michael A. Lassiter-22 of Bridgeville who is alleged to have refused to disperse from the area while Troopers conducted their criminal investigation. Lassiter was given a criminal summons and released.
A total of 79 grams of marijuana and 3 Percocet pills were seized during the drug investigation along with $618.00 United States Currency.
