DSP News Release: Detectives Probe Second Robbery of Restaurant

Location: Pizza Hut, 1300 Veale Road, Wilmington, DE

Date of Occurrence:  Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 10:30 p.m.

Victim: 

-33 year old Wilmington man

-Wilmington man (no further information)

Suspects:  

Suspect #1: Black male, 5’08”-5’09” tall with an average build. He was last seen wearing a green army jacket, tan boots, and a ski mask. He was also armed with an automatic handgun.

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Wilmington restaurant for the second time in two days.

The incident occurred as a 33 year old employee of the Pizza Hut, located at 1300 Veale Road, Wilmington, was in the rear of the building taking out the trash. The victim was then confronted by three male suspects, one of which was armed with an automatic handgun. They then forced the victim back into the restaurant where a second victim was located. The suspects forced both men to the floor and tied their hands up. They then removed money and cellular phones from the victim’s pockets. The suspects then forced the second victim to accompany them to the restaurant’s cash registers and safe where they then removed an undisclosed amount of money. They then placed both victims in the restaurant freezer and then fled in an unknown direction. The victims were able to free themselves and call 911. They were not injured.
