Resume: Millville/Selbyville-Delaware State Police Wednesday January 5, 2011 arrested two men in connection with burglaries committed at Rick’s Steakhouse Millville Delaware and Smitty Magee’s Selbyville Delaware.
State Police arrested Bruce W. Chandler-50 of Georgetown and Hank Miller-50 of Dagsboro on 13 charges related to Burglary, Theft and Conspiracy. Chandler and Miller after being charged were both remanded to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of bond.
Delaware State Police investigated the Burglary to Smitty McGee’s which occurred January 2, 2011 around 11:25 p.m. During the Smitty McGee’s’ burglary Chandler and Miller drove their vehicle to the rear of the business in a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck. Chandler and Miller then exited their vehicle, broke into a storage trailer and stole several empty beer kegs placing them in the rear of their vehicle.
Chandler and Miller left the crime scene however returned on January 3, 2011 shortly after midnight to Smitty McGee’s. Chandler and Miller on their second trip cut a lock to a walk-in cooler and gain entry. Chandler and Miller during this incident removed 13 cases of beer and again placed them into their truck and left the area.
Delaware State Police also investigated a burglary at Rick’s Steakhouse which occurred on January 3, 2011 around 2:00 a.m. During this burglary Chandler and Miller pulled to the rear of Rick’s Steakhouse. Chandler and Miller then used bolt cutters to break a lock to the storage cooler. Chandler and Miller during this burglary stole several cases of beer and kegs.
Delaware State Police was able to identify the suspects through video surveillance located at the businesses. Delaware State Police yesterday January 5, 2011 executed a search warrant at Chandler’s residence and recovered several beer kegs and additional evidence taken during the aforementioned burglaries. Also at the time of the search warrant Miller was apprehended at Chandler’s residence. Delaware State Police is continuing their investigation into Chandler and Miller’s criminal activities and is expecting to charge both with additional burglaries that have occurred in the area.
