TROOPERS INVESTIGATE ROBBERY OF WILMINGTON RESTAURANT

DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Robbery of Wilmington Restaurant
Location: Pizza Hut, 1300 Veale Road, Wilmington, DE
Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 5:50 p.m.
Victim:
-25 year old Wilmington man -37 year old New Castle man
Suspect: Black male, 5’07”-5’09” tall, 150-170 lbs, thin build. He was last seen wearing a black or dark green “puffy” hooded jacket with fur around the collar, and dark jeans. He was also armed with an automatic handgun.

Wilmington- Delaware State Police detectives are investigating a late afternoon robbery that occurred in north Wilmington yesterday.
The incident occurred as a male suspect entered the Pizza Hut Restaurant located at 1300 Veale Road at approximately 5:50 p.m. yesterday. The suspect approached the sales counter where two employees were working and asked for change. Once he received the change, the suspect removed a drink from a display cooler then returned to the sales counter to pay for it. Once the cash register was opened by one of the victims, the suspect displayed a gun and demanded the money from the register. The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled from the restaurant. He was last seen walking toward Veale Road. The victims were not injured.
