DATE and TIME:
Suspect(s) Charge(s) and Bond Information:
Resume: Greenwood/Bridgeville/Harrington-A Greenwood Delaware man is currently hospitalized following a police pursuit which ended with him crashing into a fence and tree.
Delaware State Police initially were called Wednesday evening around 11:29 p.m. to the Royal Farms on Shultz Road Greenwood Delaware for an alleged drunk and disorderly patron. The investigation revealed James W. Lee-53 of Greenwood while inside the Royal Farms for an unknown reason began throwing bottles of windshield wiper fluid on the floor. Lee then left the store and kicked over 8 trash containers.
When Troopers arrived on scene they discovered Lee had already fled the scene. State Troopers however received a 2nd 911 call around 1:28 a.m. early Thursday morning advising that Lee had returned to the business and again was acting disorderly. Lee in the 2nd incident threw milk and coffee on the floor of the business, again kicking over trash containers.
Bridgeville Police Department and State Troopers arrived on scene and observed Lee fleeing in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pick up. The Bridgeville Officer and State Trooper activated their patrol vehicle lights and sirens in an attempt to have Lee pull over.
Lee however disregarded officers’ attempts to have him stop and fled onto SR 16 and eventually onto US 13 into Kent County Delaware committing numerous traffic infractions along the way. The pursuit finally ended when Lee lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions on Beebe Road east of Harrington. Lee’s vehicle struck a fence and tree which disabled the truck.
Lee was transported via ambulance to Milford Memorial Hospital for unspecified injuries and released early this morning.
State Police obtained arrest warrants for James W. Lee consisting of 31 traffic offenses and 3 criminal charges. Lee was arraigned and released after posting $4,450 secured bond. James W. Lee |
