UPDATED INFORMATION CONCERNING POLICE ACTIVITY

Resume Update Friday February 18, 2011 7:50 a.m.

Frederica-Delaware State Police moments ago placed 6 people into custody who were inside this residence during the incident.  State Police detectives are on scene conducting a criminal investigation into these events. 

The north and southbound lanes of Bay Road are expected to be open momentarily. 

As soon as Delaware State Police have concluded their investigation a more updated release surrounding all of the events in this case will be provided.

PRELIMINARY RELEASE ROAD CLOSURE

DSP News Release:  State Police on Scene of Subject Barricaded Inside a Home

• 3600 block Bay Road S/O Frederica Delaware S/O Milford Neck Road

DATE and TIME:  

• Friday February 18, 2011

Resume:

Frederica-Delaware State Police are currently on scene of an individual barricaded inside his residence.  State Police are attempting to speak with the person inside and gain a better understanding of the situation. 

Currently several residences have been evacuated around this residence.  Additionally State Police have closed sections of the north and southbound lanes of Bay Road.

Traffic is currently being detoured between Milford Neck Road and New Wharf Road. 

As additional public information becomes available it will be disseminated.
